Biography of Dan MacMeekin

Legal aid attorney for Micronesians and Navajos

From 1971 to 1980, I worked as an attorney for the Micronesian Legal Services Corporation, a private nonprofit corporation providing legal services to Pacific Islanders. After establishing the Chuuk (Truk) office of the program and serving as its first directing attorney, I became Director of Litigation and Law Reform for the Micronesia-wide program and, subsequently, Deputy Director of the program.

Before moving to Micronesia, I was employed by Dinebeiina Nahiilna be Agaditahe, Inc. (better known as DNA), a legal aid agency serving the Navajo Indians in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.
